Ero tutta tesa ad aspettare il 2013 come data di svolta per la messa al bando totale dei i test cosmetici su animali e ora scopro che, invece di progredire verso quel traguardo, TUTTI in Europa rischiamo di regredire di mille anni, a causa di una legge vergognosa, scritta per compiacere le grandi (e piccole e medie) industrie.
La direttiva europea in questione è raccapricciante e permette di:
- sperimentare sui primati anche in assenza di gravi motivazioni per la salute umana (articolo 5, 8 e 55);
- sperimentare anche su CANI E GATTI RANDAGI (articolo 11);
- RIUTILIZZARE PIÙ VOLTE LO STESSO ANIMALE, anche in procedure che gli provocano dolore intenso, angoscia e sofferenza (articolo 16);
- sperimentare SENZA ANESTESIA e/o non somministrare analgesici a un animale sofferente (articolo14);
- sperimentare su ANIMALI VIVI a scopi didattici (articolo 5);
- creare animali geneticamente modificati tramite procedure chirurgiche;
- sottoporre a INELUDIBILI ELETTROSHOCK fino a determinare l'impotenza;
- praticare TORACOTOMIE, cioè l'incisione del torace e l'apertura della pleura, senza analgesici;
- tenere in isolamento totale per lunghi periodi animali socievoli come i cani o i primati;
- costringere gli animali al nuoto forzato fino all'ESAURIMENTO.

Mi sento impotente e vinta stasera e mi ripeto che non voglio vivere in un mondo tanto feroce e inumano. L'unica cosa che ho la forza di fare è pregarvi di informarvi qui e di valutare di aderire alla protesta firmando la petizione.

I was waiting for 2013 in order to finally obtain, as they promised, the banishment for cosmetic tests on animals and instead of this goal we now receive this shameful industry-oriented law.

It is horrific and it permits:
- to experiment on primates, even when NOT NECESSARY to the purpose of finding treatments for the human being (articles 5, 8 and 55);
- to experiment on stray and feral animals of domestic species i.e. STRAY DOGS AND CATS (article 11);
- to SISTEMATICALLY RE-USE animals that have already been experimented (...) on suffering even severe and prolonged pain and distress (article 16);
- TO CARRY OUT EXPERIMENTS WITHOUT ANAESTHESIA (article 14);
- to experiment on LIVE ANIMALS for educational purposes (article 5);
- to create genetically altered animals through surgical procedures;
- to submit animal to INESCAPABLE ELETRIC SHOCKS to produce helpness
- to carry out WITHOUT ANALGESIA THORACOTOMIES (i. e. the incision of chest walls and opening up of the pleural cavity);
- to keep animals of social species e.g. dog and non-human primates in COMPLETE ISOLATION for prolonged periods;
- to force animal to swim TILL EXHAUSTION as the end point.

I feel so powerless and defeated this evening and I keep telling me that I do not want to live in such an inhuman and ferocious world.
The only thing I can do is ask you to get informed here and to consider the take part at the protest and sign the petition.
